Christmas Day problem

Kapa haka

I was part of the Kapa Haka group this year .Here is our final performance.We outside because of Covid-19.

Te Whare Tapa Wha

 This year we have been learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and how it helps us. We made a slide to show the things we do to help us for each part. We need to keep all parts of our whare strong to be happy, healthy and safe.

Term 4 Basic Facts

We enjoy practising our basic facts each day using Prototec.  We also try and beat the clock on paper throughout the year.  Here is my Term 4 results.  I am proud of stage 5 because I did all the thousands.

Thank you Letter

A few weeks ago, instead of our camp to Coopers Beach, we went on a day trip to Kawakawa and had a sleepover at school. Our awesome parent helpers came along to supervise us. Here is a letter I wrote to say thank you.

    

 

Caving and Glow worms work

Vaseline Saucer

For pet day 2021 we created Vaseline Saucers.  We made a design and thought about symmetry and patterns.  Then on Pet day we used our designs to help us with creating our work.  Here is my DLO for my Vaseline Saucer.

Last week we visited the Life Education Caravan.  We were learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and Resilience.  Here is a google draw we made up to help us think and remember what resilience is.

 This week in writing we have been looking at recounts and how we can improve our writing.  We started looking at our writing rubrics and understanding how to find what level pieces of writing are.

Greats & Grands

 Today was meant to be Greats and Grands day at our school.  This has been cancelled for this year due to COVID-19.  We wanted to still share some writing about our amazing grandparents.  Here is my work.

Scratch, google meet

 Over the last week I have been working on a scratch project that helps my audience understand  how to use google meet effectively when in a class call.

We had to add our voice to the scratch project so that when someone clicks the icon it tells you what the icon is.

Ngā āhua - Shapes

 In Team Awa we had an outdoor learning day. We got to go outside and make huts around the back. We were learning about how Movie making is like writing a story and that we needed to take different types of movie shots. Here is some examples of what l learned.

Writing with hooks

 We have been learning to add hooks into our writing to make our stories interesting.  We can use a hook to start our paragraphs which hooks in our reader.
