I am a Year 3-4 student in Team Awa at Ohaeawai School in Northland, New Zealand. My teachers are Mrs Gardiner and Mrs Clarke.
This year we have been learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and how it helps us. We made a slide to show the things we do to help us for each part. We need to keep all parts of our whare strong to be happy, healthy and safe.
A few weeks ago, instead of our camp to Coopers Beach, we went on a day trip to Kawakawa and had a sleepover at school. Our awesome parent helpers came along to supervise us. Here is a letter I wrote to say thank you.
We learned lots when we were on our camp and wanted to share these with Team Maunga before they go on their trip. For reading and writing we have been busy creating things to help Team Maunga. Here is my work on glow worms. I worked with Isla

For pet day 2021 we created Vaseline Saucers. We made a design and thought about symmetry and patterns. Then on Pet day we used our designs to help us with creating our work. Here is my DLO for my Vaseline Saucer.

This week in writing we have been looking at recounts and how we can improve our writing. We started looking at our writing rubrics and understanding how to find what level pieces of writing are.
Today was meant to be Greats and Grands day at our school. This has been cancelled for this year due to COVID-19. We wanted to still share some writing about our amazing grandparents. Here is my work.

Over the last week I have been working on a scratch project that helps my audience understand how to use google meet effectively when in a class call.
We had to add our voice to the scratch project so that when someone clicks the icon it tells you what the icon is.

We have been learning to add hooks into our writing to make our stories interesting. We can use a hook to start our paragraphs which hooks in our reader.
